Lights OnEven many new vehicles have only glorified bright parking lights as daytime lights. Is it DUSK, DAWN, FOGGY, RAINING, DRIFTING, SUN BEHIND YOU or does your vehicle colour blend in with the background. Turn them on! Ministry’s Reasoning for Lights On The failure of a driver to notice or estimate the approach speed of another vehicle is the key factor in almost half of all collisions. Be Seen and not Hurt Anything that increases your chances of being seen by the visually impaired or by the inattentive driver lessens your chance of injury. If you don’t have your lights on, will you think of it when driving into any of the above-mentioned situations when it doesn’t help you see any better? How many drivers do you notice with what seems to be both head lights burned out in those poor visibility situations? Are you one of them? Turn Signals Practice using the turn signals well in advance of lane changes or making a turn. They are to let all surrounding traffic and pedestrians know what you are going to be doing. How often have you seen brake lights before the signals ever came on? Have you ever sat at an intersection waiting for a vehicle to go by only to have them slow down, then signal and spoil your turn? Now you have to wait even longer for other approaching traffic from either direction. DON’T BE SOMEONE ELSE’S CAUSE OF ROAD RAGE. IT MAY END UP AFFECTING YOU.
